Roger Raveel
The call for solidarity
oil on wood and mirror glass, 400 x 250 x 150 cm
2002
In 2002, Roger Raveel creates Call for solidarity. Four figures depict a reflection on the many migrants seeking a better future by sea. The right-wing man holds up a mirror to us. Raveel calls on us not to look away from the injustice that befalls many people in the world, both near and far. Equality worldwide can only grow by a united willingness to do good for the other and by calling for a world without wars.
