20. Former assistant vicarage

Next to the museum, at Machelendorp number 5, you will find the former assistant vicarage, which is part of the Roger Raveel Museum site. This is where Luc Levrau (1946-2022) lived, who was Roger Raveel's technical assistant and right-hand man from the 1970s onwards. His role in Raveel's life and career cannot be underestimated. Starting out as an assistant who drove Raveel everywhere, he later used his technical know-how to realise more complex works, such as The Wall of Imagination, which you will also pass on this walk.

After the Raveel Museum was built, Luc became its caretaker. He is also active in the History and Local History Circle of Zulte and campaigns for the heritage protection of the village view of Machelen.

In the garden of the house, there is a sculpture depicting Roger Raveel together with Zulma. The path along the museum was named after her in 2021.
